Used this container home kit as a granny flat on our property in Geelong, VIC. The build quality is excellent — everything was pre-cut and pre-welded to tolerance, which made our builder’s job much easier. The end result looks fantastic and our tenant loves it. The cost savings compared to traditional construction were significant and the timeline was much shorter. CarGoCo were helpful and responsive throughout the process.

We built our holiday retreat near Toowoomba, QLD using this prefab container kit and honestly couldn’t be more pleased with the result. The steel is heavy-gauge, the precision of the cuts and joins is impressive, and the structural integrity gives you real confidence. Our builder said it was the best-engineered kit he’d worked with. Total build time was significantly less than a traditional structure. CarGoCo’s support throughout the process was great.

Great kit for the money. Building our owner-built home near Townsville, QLD using container modules and so far the structure is excellent. The cut-outs for windows and doors are accurate, the floor supports are solid, and everything has arrived in good condition. The delivery required some coordination for our rural site but the CarGoCo team worked with our transport company to sort it out. Really happy with the purchase.

Shipping & Delivery

Cargo Co delivers shipping containers Australia-wide, with fast dispatch from our nearest depot to your site. We offer two professional delivery methods and can help you choose the right one for your access and ground conditions.

Tilt-Bed Truck Delivery (Recommended)

Our tilt-bed (roll-off) trucks place your container gently onto the ground without the need for a crane or forklift. This is the most cost-effective option for residential, commercial and rural sites with reasonable straight-line access.

Site access requirements for tilt-bed delivery:

Minimum 20 m (≈65 ft) of straight clearance for the truck to reverse and tilt
3.6 m (≈12 ft) of width clearance
4.9 m (≈16 ft) of vertical clearance — watch for tree branches, power lines and awnings
Firm, level ground capable of supporting the container and truck weight

Flatbed Truck Delivery

If your site has limited access, sloped ground or you need the container placed in a tight spot, we can dispatch the container on a flatbed truck. You will need to arrange a crane or forklift on site to unload.

Site access requirements for flatbed delivery:

Minimum 20 m (≈65 ft) of straight clearance
3.6 m (≈12 ft) of width clearance
4.3 m (≈14 ft) of vertical clearance
Side access required for the lifting equipment
Forklift must be rated to at least 4,500 kg (≈10,000 lbs) for a 20ft container

Site Preparation Checklist

To ensure a smooth delivery, please confirm the following before your scheduled drop-off:

Clear, unobstructed access for a semi-trailer
No overhead obstacles — trees, power lines, eaves or signage
Firm, level ground — gravel, compacted earth, concrete or pavers all work well
Let us know in advance if conditions are wet, soft or muddy so we can plan accordingly

Delivery Timeframes

Order delivery is typically completed within 10–30 days from the date your order is confirmed, depending on your location and depot stock availability. Remote and regional deliveries may sit at the longer end of this window — our team will confirm an exact ETA when your order is booked in.

Our specialised containers, container homes, bars and modular units are available in Australia and delivered Australia-wide. Cargo Co coordinates professional transport and delivery directly to your site.

How It's Delivered

Tilt-bed truck delivery (recommended): Your unit is delivered on a tilt-bed (roll-off) truck and placed directly onto the ground — no crane or forklift required for most units
Flatbed truck with crane: For sites with limited access or tight placement requirements, we can arrange flatbed delivery with a crane or hiab for precise positioning
Assembly: Flat-pack and kit units require on-site assembly after delivery

Delivery Lead Times

In-stock units: Approximately 20–30 days from order confirmation
Custom or made-to-order units: Up to 8 weeks depending on specifications and availability
